Blue is a personal leadership and readiness platform designed to help students reflect on who they are, capture meaningful experiences, and communicate that identity with confidence.
Blue is operated by EBNix LLC ("EBNix," "we," "our," or "us").
We take student privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to users.
1. Information We Collect

b. Information collected automatically
We collect limited technical information necessary to operate and secure the platform, including:
- Browser and device information
- IP address
- Platform usage data (e.g., pages visited, features used)
This information is used solely to support platform functionality, security, and reliability.
2. How We Use Information
We use information only as necessary to provide the Blue platform and its core functionality, including:
- Storing and organizing student-created content
- Generating reflections and structured summaries at the user's request

3. AI Use and Boundaries
Blue uses AI in limited, transparent ways to support student reflection and organization.
AI may be used to:
- Summarize student-created stories
- Identify themes, strengths, or patterns within user-provided content
- Structure content for reuse in applications or interviews
Important boundaries:
- AI does not create original student stories
- AI does not intervene during the writing process
- AI outputs are advisory and student-facing only
- AI does not make evaluative, disciplinary, or eligibility decisions
- Student data is not used to train AI models
Original student content is always preserved.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell personal information.
We may share information only:
- With trusted service providers that support platform operations (e.g., hosting, infrastructure)
- When required by law
- When users explicitly choose to share or export their content
Access to student content is controlled by the student. Any sharing with parents, educators, or other individuals occurs only through explicit user action and permission.
5. Students, Schools, and Educational Use
Blue may be used in two contexts:
a. Independent student use
When used directly by students or families, Blue operates as a student-directed platform. In this context, content is controlled by the student and is not treated as an official educational record.
b. School or district use
When Blue is adopted by a school or district:
- Blue operates as a service provider to the educational institution
- Student data is handled in accordance with applicable federal and state student privacy laws, including FERPA
- The school or district retains control over educational records as required by law
- Blue uses student data only to provide the contracted educational service
Additional data privacy agreements may apply in these contexts.
6. Student Content and Data Control
Blue distinguishes between:
Student Personal Content
Content created by the student, including reflections, stories, and personal insights.
Institutional Reporting Data
Summary information (e.g., progress indicators, completion status) used by schools for program oversight.
Students control access to their personal content. Schools and educators receive access only to summary-level information unless a student explicitly chooses to share specific content.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Users may:
- Edit or delete content at any time
- Request account deletion
When accounts are deleted, personal data is removed from active systems. Limited information may remain in secure backups for a short period before permanent deletion.
When Blue is used by a school or district, data retention and deletion may be governed by contractual agreements with that institution.
8. Data Storage and Security
Blue uses administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect user data, including:
- Encryption of data in transit and at rest
- Secure cloud infrastructure hosted in the United States
- Access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel only
We continuously evaluate and improve our security practices to protect against unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.

If changes are material, we will provide notice through the platform or via email.
